As we see in the trailer, not only does Shane delve into the unknowable depths of the dark, underground temple, he also struggles with odd flashes and hallucinations. A new trailer from Funcom shows off 12 minutes of gameplay from Moons of Madness, the cosmic horror game planned for release around Halloween of this year. Moons of Madness and its developers are straight up creating a game in the universe of the Cthulhu Mythos, but also delving into the nature of the human side of mental illness–the side untouched by eldritch abominations and nameless monstrosities. All hell breaks loose, and we see shots of a woman we now know as Shane’s mother attack her son, as well as a whole lot of other strange shots. We see shots of the exploration and the gorgeous would-be game UI, as well as a dark and eldritch cave and a strange temple within. It seems that there’s a situation here, and Shane leaves to investigate. Shane and Orson are arguing over music as the pilot manages to stop something odd out of view. The trailer begins with some eerie music over shots of a mars rover.
This trailer features astronaut Shane Neweheart as he delves into the cosmic horror-piqued sights on the research station, Trailblazer Alpha. It features a short look into The Martian-style gorgeous visuals of this sci-fi horror game.
Layers of Fears is currently in development for PC via Steam, PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series, targeting a 2023 release. The new Moons of Madness trailer was released on August 9, 2017, exclusively for the Gamespot Youtube channel. Layers of Fears is described as “a psychological horror chronicle built upon the foundations of the original Layers of Fear, Layers of Fear: Inheritance, and Layers of Fear 2.” Powered by Unreal Engine 5, the new entry builds on the foundations of the franchise’s previous entries and “works as a reimagination of the overall narrative structure connecting them all.” Layers of Fears will serve as a nexus where the revised stories of the original Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2 coalesce into a single unified experience that is expanded with the addition of new original chapters. The trailer also teases a new location that aims to bridge the stories of Layers of Fear and Layers of Fear 2.
In Layers of Fears, “The Final Note” focuses on the Painter’s Wife, a devastated musician whose story has never been fully explored. The trailer specifically provides an extended look at “The Final Note,” one of the new storylines created exclusively for Layers of Fears. Moons of Madness Out Now on PC! January 14, 2020īloober Team had revealed (after much teasing) Layers of Fears back in June, and at Gamescom, they’ve now dropped a new trailer for the upcoming entry. We understand and apologize for the frustrations this may cause. This is so we have more time to optimize the game for consoles. It's with a heavy heart that we have to announce that the console release of Moons of Madness has been moved to March 24, 2020. Crucial systems are malfunctioning, the greenhouse is filled with a strange mist and the rest of your team has yet to return from their EVA mission. Soon you discover strange and unusual setbacks. Your job is simply to keep the lights on until the transport ship Cyrano arrives bringing with it a new team to take over your duties. You are Shane Newehart, a technician stationed at the Invictus and your security clearance means you are completely unaware of the existence of the mysterious signal. In secret, the corporation began construction of Invictus, a state-of-the-art Mars research outpost designed to identify the true nature of the message. Orochi management immediately concluded that the discovery was too sensitive for public knowledge and moved to keep it hidden. The Orochi corporation sought to decode it, and determined that it was of intelligent origin. The story for the game concerns a mysterious signal that’s been recorded coming from the Mars. The devs took to the game’s official Twitter page to explain the situation, saying that the team needed more time to optimize the game for consoles. Unfortunately, publisher Funcom and developer Rock Pocket Games have delayed the game’s console release to March 24. En fait, notre site ne fonctionne pas sans eux. Originally released on Steam back on October 22, 2019, the Lovecraftian Moons of Madness was originally scheduled to hit PlayStation 4 and Xbox One on January 21.
